At the beginning of the 20th century, photography heralded a new form of art and popular communication. At the end of this century, festivals and museums of photography are becoming the focal points of popular culture around the world. The FESTIVAL OF LIGHT joins the visual technologies of the 19th and 20th centuries with the new communication systems of the 21st century.
The FESTIVAL OF LIGHT creates a pathway of photography around the world - a year-long program of monthly events in three continents - celebrating the diversity of art and society across the world.
